On Nov. 24, 2009, Charlie Baker made a personal decision that could affect not only his political future, but the future of the Republican Party in Massachusetts. Mr. Baker chose Sen. Richard Tisei (R-Wakefield) as his running mate. Baker and Tisei have been friends for many years, and Tisei was serving as Baker’s campaign chairman at the time of the announcement. While we respect the friendship and personal relationship that Mr. Baker and Mr. Tisei have, we believe that Mr. Tisei is the wrong choice for lieutenant governor and the wrong choice for the Republican Party. That is why this website has been created: to organize opposition to his candidacy and get the ball rolling to support a challenger.

Please click on each of the issues listed in our menu. Each page highlights a significant flaw in Mr. Tisei’s credentials as a Republican. For example, he is the ONLY Senate Republican endorsed by the Massachusetts Teachers Association. He is also the ONLY Senate Republican to vote against the tax rollback in 2000. He was the ONLY Republican endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts in 2008. If you find these facts as offensive as we do, please use the form below to register your opposition to Tisei’s candidacy and join in a growing movement to support someone else for lieutenant governor.

The Republican Party in Massachusetts has an opportunity that only comes around every 20 years or so, and Charlie Baker has made a choice that could hurt our party’s chance at repeating the historic gains made in 1990, when Republicans won races for Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, thirty-eight seats in the House and 16 in the Senate.
